Learning Skills Council

GVA Grimley have been appointed onto the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) Consultancy Framework to advise on the redevelopment of colleges across England. The appointment is an integral part of the government’s commitment to modernise further the education sector. It is anticipated that a total capital investment in the sector will amount to £1.6 billion per annum, over the next six years (2014).

GVA Grimley has been appointed on all three Strategic Property Advice and Project Management Regional Frameworks. This pre-qualifies GVA Grimley to provide strategic property advice and project management services across the North, Midlands and South of England. GVA Grimley is the only mainstream surveying practice to have been appointed for the whole country.

Our teams can combine detailed knowledge of the education sector with strategy specialists, town planners, project managers and property agents. With many projects involving college relocations, GVA Grimley is unique in being able to deal with all of the major issues which un-lock these increasingly complex developments.  Many projects are being developed with total development costs of upwards of £50 million.

The framework is designed to save the time and money of colleges embarking on capital projects and the benefits to colleges include saving an estimated three months on procurement processes and additional budgetary control through a maximum tender agreement. For those projects with a projected budget in excess of £5 million, which require capital grant funding from the LSC, the use of the frameworks will now be mandatory to ensure value for public money.
