GVA Grimley Study to Examine the Planning Application Process in Wales

In September 2009, GVA Grimley was appointed by the Welsh Assembly Government to lead a research project to examine the planning application process in Wales. Our draft report, which contains a series of recommendations for the reform of the system, is now available for a one month period of consultation which closes on 8th April 2010. Over time, all office buildings deteriorate while becoming subject to various other forms of obsolescence. At some stage it will become necessary to consider whether to refurbish or completely redevelop. GVA Grimley calls for additional investment commitment for TfL beyond 2019 to secure London’s growth

The Mayor’s current plan includes essential measures to address a London transport system that has seen decades of under-investment, through schemes such as the tube upgrade and Crossrail. Our latest research bulletin entitled “A Capital Achievement? Will transport help or hinder the economic recovery of London?” highlights how from 2019, the gap between transport capacity and transport demand is set to widen significantly. This may leave a potential shortfall in transport capacity of 30% by 2031.

Planning Policy Statement 4: Planning for Sustainable Economic Growth (PPS4)

Communities and Local Government (CLG) published PPS4 on 29 December 2009. The document is accompanied by a Practice Guide – Planning For Town Centres, prepared by GVA Grimley on behalf of CLG.
